Due Gemme Toscana Rosso I.G.T.
The name comes from our old label of Sant’Antimo DOC that will no longer be commercialized. Due Gemme is a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot coming from our vineyard Il Quercione, planted in 2001 at about 260 meters above sea level.
TECHNICAL SHEET
Grape variety: Sangiovese e Merlot.
Training method: single or double spurred.
Harvest: selection of the grapes and manual harvesting into small baskets, rapid transfer to the cellar for vinification.
Winemaking: Light destemming and crushing; alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures with frequent pumpovers; medium maceration on the skins.
Vinification: soft pressing and destemming, temperature controlled alcoholic fermentation with frequent pumping over and medium maceration on skins.
Aging: One year in French oak, followed by ageing in bottle for some months.
Production: 15.000 bottles.
